GroceryAid is a UK charity providing a range of support for colleagues working in the food and drink industry in processing, manufacturing, supermarkets, independents, wholesaling, distribution, sales and all support functions. This includes financial and emotional support, relationship counselling, legal advice, health and wellbeing.
GroceryAid has been especially active during the COVID pandemic and has a focus on helping young people and promoting diversity and inclusion through its activities. Many of the leading food and drink companies, retailers and foodservice companies in the UK support the work of GroceryAid.
There has often been a strong link between GroceryAid and the City Food Lecture – the current President, Charles Wilson was the Keynote Speaker for the CFL in 2014 and many of the senior staff of Grocery Aid have attended as our guests since then, not least Steve Barnes, the current Chief Executive. As from January 2022, Allan Leighton, the Chairman of the Co-operative Group, BrewDog and Pizza Express has been appointed as President of GroceryAid.

We look forward to welcoming Steve and his colleagues to the City Food Lecture as our guests in February 2022 and would encourage all those who attend the CFL to visit their website www.groceryaid.org.uk and find out more about the very important work they are involved with.
